The Byre provides homely self-contained holiday accommodation over two floors. The ground floor of The Byre opens onto a large hallway and then into an open-plan kitchen/diner, with a stable door to the front. A country-kitchen style dining table and chairs stands adjacent to the kitchenette. Facilities include a fan assisted electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave and fridge with icebox. Perfect for those family meals in.
Across the hallway, is the sitting room with log burner, two, two-seater leather sofas, two bean bags and flat-screen FreeSat TV with DVD player.
On the first floor, the cottage has three bedrooms. There is a splendidly large double bedroom with aspect to the front and side of the property, and two single bedrooms with single beds. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and hand basin.
There is a DAB radio in the large double bedroom, and wide selection of fiction and non-fiction books for both adults and children. A chest of drawers in the sitting room is full of DVDs and games for all ages.
Guests are welcome to use the shared external utility room to the side of the property, with washer/dryer for guest use (and a separate washing machine for owners’ use). The position of the boiler here, keeps this room beautifully warm in the winter and is ideal for drying and storing walking gear, with clothes airer and rack for guest use. There are also doggy towels for wet paws! Bicycles can also be stored here, as the room has a 2 bicycle cycle rack and its own lockable door.

This is a no smoking cottage. No smoking inside please.
The Byre sits in extensive shared grounds, full of trees shrubs and flowers. There is space to sit out at the front on the courtyard (best in the morning when the sun rises over the forest) and to the rear is a small lawned area for guests’ use, screened by trees and shrubs, with garden furniture (barbecue on request)
We are very pleased to welcome dogs to The Byre, they will certainly enjoy the miles of walks in the locality but ask that they are kept on a lead, as there are free ranging hens, and sheep in the surrounding fields.
On your day of departure, please be ready to leave by 10.00am, to allow cleaning and restocking for the next guests. Keys should be left in the door on vacating the property.
